Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Eichenberg. Final grade: B-.

Somebody in No. 179 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while Tommy Eichenberg, the No. 145 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
A reach for Jackson Powers-Johnson in slot 16; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
They took Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at par in No. 81, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick102 Rnd4 James Williams
A big swing on James Williams at pick No. 102, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at pick 118 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tommy Eichenberg
The board fumbled Tommy Eichenberg all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Tahj Washington
A tidy little value on Tahj Washington in the 192nd overall pick, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick235 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens at Round 7, Pick 15 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
