Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall C
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The 49ers won the night they stopped Warren from sliding. Grade: C.

The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Tyler Warren, the No. 15 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 43 like a gift left on the doorstep. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They are betting Crenshaw-Dickson proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Somehow Tyler Warren was still sitting there in pick 43, and they pounced on premier tight end value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 75 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick79 Rnd3 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at No. 79 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick99 Rnd3 Savion Williams
By-the-book stuff, Savion Williams at Round 3, Pick 35 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at slot 112 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick121 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at the 121st pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick189 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
They will replay Chase Lundt at the 189th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick255 Rnd7 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
They reached into another round for Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
