Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueA- NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
The Giants won the night they stopped Kamara from sliding. Grade: B+.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Mikail Kamara, the No. 24 name on the board, stolen at the Round 4 slot.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In pick No. 13 they get a press-man option on the boundary. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond is a better player than pick 40 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick44 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
You do not let a safety like Nick Emmanwori reach Round 2, Pick 12 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
Circle this one: Tate Ratledge at slot 65 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
They barely believed it either: Smael Mondon Jr. still on the board at the 104th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick134 Rnd4 Mikail Kamara
Mikail Kamara at the 134th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick150 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
They robbed the room for Kalel Mullings here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
Steal is underselling it; Jay Higgins at No. 157 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick171 Rnd5 Riley Mahlman
Riley Mahlman at slot 171 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219 Rnd7 Tahj Brooks
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Tahj Brooks in the 219th pick, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
They will replay Kyle Monangai at the 246th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
Pick256 Rnd7 Ben Yurosek
Taking Ben Yurosek in No. 256 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
