Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureB
The Giants let Higgins fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jay Higgins, pick 157, roughly 100 picks past where he belonged.

Every board in the league had Ewers lower, and that gap is the story. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In pick 3 they get a ballhawk on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers at pick No. 34 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
They will replay Smael Mondon Jr. at the 104th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick134 Rnd4 Kamari Ramsey
Circle this one: Kamari Ramsey at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at Round 5, Pick 19 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick219 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Kyle Monangai at No. 219 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jared Wilson
The board fumbled Jared Wilson all the way to the 246th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick256 Rnd7 Jake Briningstool
A tight end of that caliber at slot 256 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
