FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Seahawks: B. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Seahawks never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Slaughter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. If Hunter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the 24th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick55
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jake Slaughter at Round 2, Pick 23. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick86
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy at the 86th overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick121
Rnd4
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at No. 121 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick161
Rnd5
Kage Casey
A tidy little value on Kage Casey in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick182
Rnd6
Lee Hunter
The board had cheaper options than Lee Hunter at pick No. 182, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
