Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesA-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Titans. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Titans reached some 43 spots for Trey Moore, and value like that does not grow back.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Chambliss pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese in Round 1, Pick 12 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick24
Rnd1
Chris Brazzell II
In the 24th pick they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value.
Pick35
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Sonny Styles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick66
Rnd3
Keith Abney II
A straight-up fair deal on Keith Abney II at pick 66, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick88
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
They reached into another round for Zachariah Branch, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen in No. 105 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick142
Rnd5
Jyaire Hill
Jyaire Hill at the 142nd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick156
Rnd5
Trey Moore
They talked themselves into Trey Moore at Round 5, Pick 17, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick161
Rnd5
Kage Casey
Nice patience on Kage Casey, who had no business lasting to the Round 5 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick184
Rnd6
Trinidad Chambliss
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Trinidad Chambliss at pick 184. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick238
Rnd7
Lawson Luckie
Lawson Luckie at pick No. 238 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
