Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesC FutureA
More right than wrong for the Commanders, and a B to prove it.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Commanders took Bryce Foster a full 28 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Terrell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In No. 26 they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Max Klare
Fair-plus on Max Klare, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick71 Rnd3 Germie Bernard
A tidy little value on Germie Bernard in Round 3, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in the 91st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick126 Rnd4 Billy Schrauth
No drama and no debate, Billy Schrauth went about where he belonged in slot 126. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick145 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at the Round 5 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick185 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa in Round 6, Pick 6 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick196 Rnd6 Justin Jefferson
No edge and no loss on Justin Jefferson in the 196th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick223 Rnd7 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in pick No. 223 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
