The board owed the Commanders one, and it paid up: Eli Stowers, the No. 61 name on the board, sitting there at slot 145 like a gift left on the doorstep.

The cost of the Perkins Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
