FutureA
The Commanders kept it disciplined and banked a B. The war room fell hard for Bryce Foster, and it showed at slot 223: 28 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, Stowers at that price is a win they earned.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick 12 they get a featured back at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick71
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
They read the board right and Eli Stowers was the payoff at the 71st overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick145
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart in Round 5, Pick 7 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick185
Rnd6
Ephesians Prysock
They paid sticker price for Ephesians Prysock in No. 185, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick196
Rnd6
Lander Barton
Lander Barton at slot 196 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick223
Rnd7
Bryce Foster
They left a pile of value on the table to take Bryce Foster this early at the Round 7 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
