Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Commanders a B.

The Commanders put a flag in the ground for Trey Moore, 46 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Landing Nwankpa that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The Jermaine Johnson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick38 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
No edge and no loss on Anthony Hill Jr. in Round 2, Pick 6; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick44 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
They took Caleb Banks at par in the 44th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick69 Rnd3 Zachariah Branch
They paid a round early for Zachariah Branch in pick 69, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick103 Rnd4 Emmett Johnson
Emmett Johnson at pick No. 103 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick106 Rnd4 Daylen Everette
They did well to land Daylen Everette in the 106th pick, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick128 Rnd4 Eli Raridon
A clean, defensible pick in slot 128 with a little surplus value in Eli Raridon. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick145 Rnd5 Trey Moore
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trey Moore in the Round 5 slot, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick185 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa slipping to the 185th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick196 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at Round 6, Pick 17 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223 Rnd7 Fernando Carmona
A straight-up fair deal on Fernando Carmona at No. 223, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
