There is conviction, and then there is this. The Commanders took Keyron Crawford a full 71 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

That Taaffe pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
