The Braelon Allen pick is the one that will follow the Vikings into the fall. They took him 44 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

J.J. McCarthy gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Colson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
