Everything downstream of Drake Maye depends on Drake Maye, and the building knows it. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Torrence falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

They will need Puni to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
