The Texans clearly saw something nobody else did in Jaylin Simpson, taking him 40 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Barrett that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
