The Steelers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The Steelers' one glaring miss is interior defensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Allar has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
