Draft Grade — Chiefs

Larceny in the 101st pick lands the Chiefs a D-, McNeil-Warren and all. Somebody took the Chiefs to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
They will answer for taking cornerback early while offensive lineman and quarterback went begging. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They will need Oke to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. McNeil-Warren at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and offensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In pick No. 4 they get a problem off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick28
Rnd1
Chris Bell
In No. 28 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles at pick 35 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick73
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Value with a capital V on Eli Stowers in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74
Rnd3
Malik Muhammad
No drama and no debate, Malik Muhammad went about where he belonged in slot 74. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick101
Rnd4
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Taking Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in Round 4, Pick 1 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick121
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Tacario Davis in slot 121 leaves offensive lineman and quarterback for later.
Pick136
Rnd4
David Oke
The board had cheaper options than David Oke at pick 136, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick147
Rnd5
Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. in No. 147 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick177
Rnd5
Le'Veon Moss
A straight-up fair deal on Le'Veon Moss at the 177th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
