Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Dolphins left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

Start where it matters. The Dolphins took Jaxson Dart to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Peebles pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get their quarterback of the future, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
Nothing to complain about; Jonah Savaiinaea went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
They did well to land Jalen Milroe in the 98th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick116 Rnd4 Aeneas Peebles
Aeneas Peebles at No. 116 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick135 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. in pick No. 135 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick150 Rnd5 Jackson Slater
Jackson Slater at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick155 Rnd5 Zy Alexander
They barely believed it either: Zy Alexander still on the board at slot 155. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick224 Rnd7 Kain Medrano
Good price on Kain Medrano in the 224th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick231 Rnd7 Desmond Watson
Desmond Watson at slot 231 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick253 Rnd7 Kobe Hudson
Circle this one: Kobe Hudson at the 253rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
