The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chiefs and Tuten: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Bhayshul Tuten tumbling to the Chiefs in Round 7, Pick 10 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They are betting Jones proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Colston Loveland
In No. 31 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick63
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Donovan Jackson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson is a better player than the 66th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick95
Rnd3
Sai'vion Jones
They reached a country mile for Sai'vion Jones at Round 3, Pick 31, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick133
Rnd4
Tory Horton
Tory Horton at pick No. 133 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick226
Rnd7
Bhayshul Tuten
The board fumbled Bhayshul Tuten all the way to slot 226, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick251
Rnd7
Jahvaree Ritzie
A real head-scratcher, Jahvaree Ritzie in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick257
Rnd7
Kitan Crawford
Kitan Crawford in the 257th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
