Draft Grade — Bills
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA- FutureA+
About as clean as a draft gets for the Bills: A-.

The Bills' one glaring miss is linebacker, a need they left exactly as they found it. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

Braswell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They are betting Nourzad proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Bottom line, with Brian Thomas Jr. leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Brian Thomas Jr. at slot 28, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick60 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
The board had Chris Braswell higher than pick 60, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Roger Rosengarten
By-the-book stuff, Roger Rosengarten at Round 4, Pick 34 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick144 Rnd5 Hunter Nourzad
Hunter Nourzad at the Round 5 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick163 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
They took Malik Mustapha at par in the 163rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick194 Rnd6 Jordan Jefferson
A slide stopped in the 194th overall pick, with Jordan Jefferson worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick200 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Cornelius Johnson in pick No. 200. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
