Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Devin Culp in Round 5, Pick 33, a good 135 spots before the room expected him. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Getting Ulofoshio where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 25th pick they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that.
Pick41 Rnd2 Ja'Lynn Polk
Ja'Lynn Polk at slot 41 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
No drama and no debate, Payton Wilson went about where he belonged in the 58th overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick88 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mike Sainristil at Round 3, Pick 25 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick91 Rnd3 Max Melton
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Max Melton worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick126 Rnd4 Maason Smith
They read the board right and Maason Smith was the payoff at No. 126. It fills a real need, too.
Pick169 Rnd5 Devin Culp
They talked themselves into Devin Culp at slot 169, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jack Westover
They reached into another round for Jack Westover, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick219 Rnd6 Julian Pearl
Julian Pearl in pick 219 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Bub Means
No edge and no loss on Bub Means in pick No. 245; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick255 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Edefuan Ulofoshio in Round 7, Pick 35, plain and simple. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
