No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Packers.

The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Rondell Bothroyd at slot 224 regardless, 62 picks early. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Getting Zinter where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Packers indulged a want in Smith while a need in quarterback, tight end and other spots stayed open.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
