Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C+
ValueD+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Ravens landed square in the muddy middle: C+.

The Ravens did not so much draft Ozzy Trapilo as overpay for him, 55 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Mullings that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Ozzy Trapilo
In the 27th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
They liked Tate Ratledge enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 59. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick91 Rnd3 Deone Walker
They did well to land Deone Walker in pick No. 91, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick129 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
A premium they did not need to pay, Rylie Mills a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick136 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
They went early on Emery Jones Jr. in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick176 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
They let Kalel Mullings come to them and pounced at slot 176. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183 Rnd6 Jalen McLeod
They reached a country mile for Jalen McLeod at pick 183, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick203 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick210 Rnd6 Luke Elzinga
The board had cheaper options than Luke Elzinga at pick No. 210, and it noticed. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick212 Rnd6 Mac McWilliams
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mac McWilliams well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick243 Rnd7 Torricelli Simpkins III
A wild overpay on Torricelli Simpkins III in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
