Draft Grade — Bengals

Grand theft in Round 6, Pick 17: the Bengals steal Ransom and grade out a B-. The rest of the league will want that one back. Lathan Ransom tumbling to the Bengals in pick 193 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They will need Stackhouse to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In the 17th overall pick they get an enforcer at safety. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
By-the-book stuff, JT Tuimoloau at No. 49 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick81
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
They took Donovan Jackson at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick119
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. in pick No. 119 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick153
Rnd5
Nazir Stackhouse
They talked themselves into Nazir Stackhouse at the 153rd pick, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick193
Rnd6
Lathan Ransom
A safety of that caliber at pick 193 is the definition of value, full stop. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
