FutureA+
Hard to poke a hole in the Cardinals' weekend: A-. Of all the ways to open, the Cardinals chose the head-scratcher, spending pick 90 on Mike Sainristil with quarterback, running back and other spots still wide open.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for Rosemy-Jacksaint left real value on the table behind him.
Jakobi Meyers gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In the 13th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In the 27th pick they get an island corner at fair value. More want than need.
Pick35
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
No edge and no loss on Bralen Trice in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick39
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
A straight-up fair deal on Kris Jenkins at the 39th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66
Rnd3
Ruke Orhorhoro
They took Ruke Orhorhoro at par in pick No. 66, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick71
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 7 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick90
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Mike Sainristil at cornerback with quarterback, running back and other spots open.
Pick104
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
They liked Leonard Taylor III enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 104. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick133
Rnd4
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in pick 133 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
