Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB-
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the C. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Call it a C and check back in two years.
Hall has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will answer for taking DT-EDGE early while edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots went begging.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Hit on Troy Fautanu and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Troy Fautanu
In the 25th overall pick they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at the 49th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick97
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany in No. 97 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick102
Rnd4
Maason Smith
A curious use of pick No. 102. Edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots needed the pick; a DT-EDGE in Maason Smith did not.
Pick118
Rnd4
James Williams
No edge and no loss on James Williams in slot 118; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick154
Rnd5
AJ Barner
This one needs a full-page explanation: AJ Barner in the Round 5 slot, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick192
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
They reached a country mile for Gabe Hall at Round 6, Pick 17, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick235
Rnd7
Edefuan Ulofoshio
No drama and no debate, Edefuan Ulofoshio went about where he belonged in pick 235. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
