Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Ravens fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

The real work happened on the phones. The Ravens fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, Cephus at that price is a win they earned. The Ravens paired the rookies with proven help, Will Hernandez leading the way.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Quinyon Mitchell
Quinyon Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 3 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick62 Rnd2 Ja'Lynn Polk
Fair-plus on Ja'Lynn Polk, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick93 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at slot 93 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick131 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tommy Eichenberg in pick No. 131. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
They read the board right and Jarrian Jones was the payoff at the 134th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick140 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
By-the-book stuff, Malik Mustapha at No. 140 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick167 Rnd5 LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson at the 167th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick251 Rnd7 Joshua Cephus
A quiet steal in the Round 7 slot: Joshua Cephus for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
