Robertson should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Sawyer Robertson slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at the Round 6 slot. Highway robbery. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

If Brown pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 CJ Allen
CJ Allen at the 31st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick63 Rnd2 Max Klare
Max Klare at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 Caden Curry
Caden Curry in pick 95 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
They let Jalon Kilgore come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 25. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at the 131st pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick169 Rnd5 Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss in No. 169 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick189 Rnd6 Barion Brown
Barion Brown in slot 189 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200 Rnd6 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at pick No. 200 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick207 Rnd6 Jordan White
They liked Jordan White enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 207. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick210 Rnd6 J. Michael Sturdivant
They jumped the gun on J. Michael Sturdivant, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall in Round 7, Pick 31 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
