Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesD FutureA+
Nix is the plan now, and the Broncos grade out a B.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Bo Nix is the Broncos' quarterback, full stop. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They banked enough surplus on Torrence to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will need McCaffrey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

Job largely done: linebacker settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick76 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette at the 76th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick81 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving in No. 81 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick121 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster at slot 121 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick136 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
They paid up for Luke McCaffrey at pick No. 136 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick146 Rnd5 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at the 146th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169 Rnd5 Grayson Murphy
A conviction pick on Grayson Murphy at pick 169 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ro Torrence
Ro Torrence at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
By-the-book stuff, Jared Wiley at pick 203 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick207 Rnd6 Steele Chambers
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Steele Chambers in the Round 6 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick221 Rnd7 Logan Lee
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Logan Lee at Round 7, Pick 1 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
