Draft Grade — Lions
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedA- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Lions cashed the board's mistake on Emmanwori: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Lions were there to profit. Nick Emmanwori, the No. 18 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 2, Pick 28. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The cost of the Tuimoloau reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
In the 28th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Somehow Nick Emmanwori was still sitting there in No. 60, and they pounced on premier safety value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick61 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
A straight-up fair deal on Azareye'h Thomas at pick No. 61, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick63 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
They went early on Tate Ratledge in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick101 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
They liked Jordan Phillips enough to skip the value, taking him in the 101st pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
