Good, not great, for the Vikings: B-. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Vikings never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
The Parrish steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the Round 1 slot they get a load in the middle. A real need, handled.
Pick99
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
Nice patience on Cam Skattebo, who had no business lasting to Round 3, Pick 35. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139
Rnd5
Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish is a better player than slot 139 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick187
Rnd6
Chase Lundt
Chase Lundt slipping to No. 187 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick219
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
They read the board right and Caleb Ransaw was the payoff at the 219th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 246 with a little surplus value in Isaac TeSlaa. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
