Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Giants spent pick No. 134 on Fadil Diggs, a name most had 98 spots down the list. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

Wells Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
