Grand theft in the 44th overall pick: the Jets steal Echoles and grade out a B+. The Jets ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
They banked enough surplus on Echoles to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Robinson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
