Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Broncos this weekend: B+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Broncos did exactly that with Theo Wease Jr. in the 134th pick.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

It is not that Stover is a bad player; it is that the Broncos had louder needs to answer first. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Coleman.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In pick No. 18 they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Taking Keon Coleman in Round 2, Pick 16 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick76 Rnd3 Blake Corum
Blake Corum at the 76th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick80 Rnd3 Spencer Rattler
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Spencer Rattler. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jamari Thrash
Jamari Thrash in No. 114 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick124 Rnd4 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at pick 124 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick132 Rnd4 Cade Stover
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went TE-EDGE with Cade Stover while clear needs at interior defensive lineman sat open.
Pick134 Rnd4 Theo Wease Jr.
They reached into another round for Theo Wease Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick149 Rnd5 Mike Sainristil
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Mike Sainristil at the Round 5 slot. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick233 Rnd7 Erick All
A reach on Erick All in the 233rd overall pick; the board had better options right there. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick238 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 238th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick243 Rnd7 Demouy Kennedy
Demouy Kennedy in slot 243 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick254 Rnd7 Dorian Singer
Dorian Singer in pick 254 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
