Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB FutureA+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cardinals and Worthy: B+.

The board owed the Cardinals one, and it paid up: Xavier Worthy, the No. 55 name on the board, sitting there at Round 5, Pick 25 like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a go-to option on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan in the 35th pick is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick51 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson is a better player than the 51st overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick71 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
No edge and no loss on Cooper Beebe in slot 71; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick90 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick 90 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Blake Corum
Blake Corum at No. 105 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
A straight-up fair deal on Johnny Wilson at pick No. 121, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick137 Rnd5 James Williams
Circle this one: James Williams at Round 5, Pick 1 is a fall that decides a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones slid further than he should have, and pick 157 is lovely value for the cornerback. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick161 Rnd5 Xavier Worthy
You do not let a wide receiver like Xavier Worthy reach slot 161 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick186 Rnd6 Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki at the 186th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick188 Rnd6 Tommy Eichenberg
They robbed the room for Tommy Eichenberg here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick222 Rnd7 Cedric Johnson
Nice patience on Cedric Johnson, who had no business lasting to No. 222. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick224 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Josh Proctor at the 224th overall pick is the proof. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick241 Rnd7 Julian Pearl
They barely believed it either: Julian Pearl still on the board at the Round 7 slot. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
