Call it larceny. Jake Slaughter sat on the board until pick 221, and the Cardinals did not need to be asked twice.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Whatever Fernando Mendoza becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.

They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The cost of the Mendoza reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
