Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesC+ FutureB-
The Bills robbed the room for Braswell. Final grade: B.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Bills did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to linebacker, which was the need that mattered most.

Landing Braswell that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They are betting Coker proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In No. 28 they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell at pick 60 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick99 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in Round 3, Pick 36 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick129 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
Nice patience on Mekhi Wingo, who had no business lasting to pick No. 129. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick143 Rnd5 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at slot 143 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick159 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith is a better player than the 159th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick198 Rnd6 Kendall Milton
Kendall Milton slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 23 is lovely value for the running back. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick202 Rnd6 Myles Harden
Myles Harden in slot 202 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick206 Rnd6 Tahj Washington
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Tahj Washington graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jalen Coker
They went early on Jalen Coker in pick No. 246, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
