2 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Giants. The Giants treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick No. 65 on Jalen Milroe a full 30 spots early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Landing Grant that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In slot 3 they get juice off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant slipping to the 34th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen Milroe this early at No. 65. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick99
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at Round 3, Pick 35 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
They took Cam Skattebo at par in the 105th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick154
Rnd5
Logan Brown
They did well to land Logan Brown in pick 154, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
