Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Commanders.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Commanders walked out of the weekend still thin at tight end, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

They banked enough surplus on Anderson to cover a lot of smaller sins. Zuhn III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In the 10th pick they get a workhorse for the backfield at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick44 Rnd2 Romello Height
They paid a round early for Romello Height in pick 44, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick71 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson in No. 71 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jyaire Hill
They paid sticker price for Jyaire Hill in the 146th overall pick, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick151 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
By-the-book stuff, DeMonte Capehart at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick188 Rnd6 Aaron Anderson
Aaron Anderson at Round 6, Pick 7 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick197 Rnd6 Bud Clark
Bud Clark at slot 197 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick223 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Zuhn III a notch or two before his time. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
