Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Alexander: B-.

The 49ers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Zy Alexander, the No. 164 name on the board, in No. 209. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Every board in the league had Mesidor lower, and that gap is the story. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick98 Rnd3 Tyler Guyton

Somehow Tyler Guyton was still sitting there in slot 98, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Pick123 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves

They will replay Matt Goncalves at Round 4, Pick 23 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

A tidy little value on Khyree Jackson in pick No. 131, a step better than break-even. It adds depth where they could use a little.
