Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

FutureA+
The Commanders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Torrence steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value.
Pick36
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
They did well to land Tyler Guyton in pick No. 36, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick37
Rnd2
Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders at the 37th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
A clean, defensible pick in No. 40 with a little surplus value in Ladd McConkey. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67
Rnd3
Bralen Trice
Fair-plus on Bralen Trice, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick78
Rnd3
Blake Corum
A straight-up fair deal on Blake Corum at pick 78, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick100
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
A tidy little value on Khyree Jackson in the 100th overall pick, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick139
Rnd5
Christian Jones
A reasonable price with a little left over, Christian Jones in Round 5, Pick 3. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140
Rnd5
Sataoa Laumea
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sataoa Laumea in slot 140. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick152
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
Nothing to complain about; Mason McCormick went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick222
Rnd7
Ro Torrence
They will replay Ro Torrence at Round 7, Pick 2 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
