The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kayden McDonald, Round 7, Pick 38, roughly 219 picks past where he belonged.

Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.
