Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall

FutureB-
The Cowboys lost the trade table, and the C tells the story. The Nazir Stackhouse pick is the one that will follow the Cowboys into the fall. They took him 38 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It nets out a thoroughly average C.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. However the rest shakes out, Henderson at that price is a win they earned.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
So much rides on Tre Harris that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Tre Harris
In the 20th pick they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Wyatt Milum
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Wyatt Milum. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick76
Rnd3
Patrick Payton
A wild overpay on Patrick Payton in slot 76, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick87
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach pick 87 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick93
Rnd3
Danny Stutsman
No edge and no loss on Danny Stutsman in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick112
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at No. 112 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick155
Rnd5
Nic Anderson
Fair-plus on Nic Anderson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick162
Rnd5
Mykel Williams
A real head-scratcher, Mykel Williams in pick No. 162 is miles ahead of his ranking. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick169
Rnd5
Azareye'h Thomas
A conviction pick on Azareye'h Thomas at Round 5, Pick 31 that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick170
Rnd5
Amari Kight
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Amari Kight. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick171
Rnd5
Nazir Stackhouse
They reached into another round for Nazir Stackhouse, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick192
Rnd6
Damien Martinez
Value said wait; Damien Martinez in the 192nd pick says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick208
Rnd6
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord slipping to slot 208 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
