Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Ward is the plan now, and the Titans grade out a B-.

Call it larceny. Emeka Egbuka sat on the board until the Round 4 slot, and the Titans did not need to be asked twice. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick No. 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Abdul Carter
Taking Abdul Carter in No. 35 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103 Rnd4 Emeka Egbuka
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Emeka Egbuka in the 103rd overall pick, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
They did well to land Terrance Ferguson in pick No. 120, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick141 Rnd5 Oluwafemi Oladejo
A straight-up fair deal on Oluwafemi Oladejo at the 141st pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick167 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
A quiet steal in the Round 5 slot: Bhayshul Tuten for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick178 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in pick 178 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick188 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at No. 188 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
