Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Reaching for Robinson left real value on the table behind him. They banked enough surplus on Mukuba to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
They paid up for Tyler Booker at pick No. 24 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick39 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Omarion Hampton at the 39th overall pick is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick41 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
They liked Jayden Higgins enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 41. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick72 Rnd3 Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick103 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in the 103rd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick139 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
Ty Robinson in Round 5, Pick 1 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick141 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Jake Majors is a better player than slot 141 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick148 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
They took Pat Bryant at par in No. 148, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick233 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in the 233rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick240 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson in the 240th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
