Sawyer should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a D-.

The phones were a trap the Cowboys kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. The Davis pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback, linebacker and other spots. Every board in the league had Milum lower, and that gap is the story.

They banked enough surplus on Sawyer to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.
