Quarterback settled, Beck in the fold, and a D for the Cowboys. Nobody had Zy Alexander this high, and it is not close. The Cowboys reached 44 spots to get him at No. 177.
So much rides on Carson Beck that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. It is not that Moore is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
