The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Ashton Jeanty, the No. 2 name on the board, in the 112th pick.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. It is not that Walker is a bad player; it is that the Packers had louder needs to answer first.

The veteran additions, Nate Wiggins chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
