The rest of the league had time to spare on Chip Trayanum; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 71 spots ahead at slot 186. Put together, it is a D.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
