Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureA+
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Browns. There is reaching, and then there is Earnest Greene III at the 147th pick. The Browns jumped the board by 23 and dared it to prove them wrong.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on McDonald to cover a lot of smaller sins. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Caleb Lomu
In slot 18 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick24
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Kayden McDonald
A quiet steal in the 39th pick: Kayden McDonald for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick49
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel Pregnon went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick70
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at Round 3, Pick 6 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick107
Rnd4
Jaeden Roberts
They paid a round early for Jaeden Roberts in pick 107, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139
Rnd5
Eli Raridon
A slide stopped in pick 139, with Eli Raridon worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144
Rnd5
Domani Jackson
They paid sticker price for Domani Jackson in the 144th overall pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick147
Rnd5
Earnest Greene III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Earnest Greene III well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick194
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trey Zuhn III. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick204
Rnd6
Nolan Rucci
They took Nolan Rucci at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick221
Rnd7
Hykeem Williams
Hykeem Williams in Round 7, Pick 5 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick248
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Eric Gentry. A minor itch, scratched.
