Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA
The Raiders robbed the room for Fields. Final grade: A-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Malachi Fields tumbling to the Raiders in Round 4, Pick 12 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

They will need Trost to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The Raiders paired the rookies with proven help, Brock Purdy leading the way.

Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick20 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In the 20th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
No drama and no debate, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went about where he belonged in pick 36. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick67 Rnd3 Lee Hunter
Somehow Lee Hunter was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick102 Rnd4 Mike Washington Jr.
Mike Washington Jr. in pick No. 102 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick112 Rnd4 Malachi Fields
They will replay Malachi Fields at slot 112 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117 Rnd4 Julian Neal
Julian Neal at No. 117 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134 Rnd4 Justin Joly
Justin Joly slid further than he should have, and the 134th overall pick is lovely value for the tight end. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick175 Rnd5 Keagen Trost
Keagen Trost in pick 175 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick185 Rnd6 Taylen Green
A reach on Taylen Green in slot 185; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick208 Rnd6 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at Round 6, Pick 27 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick219 Rnd7 Pat Coogan
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Pat Coogan in pick No. 219. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
